Honeysuckle Doll Tutorial

Writer's picture: Cotton CuteCotton Cute

HoneySuckle - Lonicera periclymenum

This is a very interesting little Doll, that was made after taking responsibility for worst painting I could possibly imagine, my first Flow Art painting . I thought it would be easy, clearly I was quite wrong. My friend was so kind and saw the positive side saying "you can turn it which ever way and it will always look different"

I gazed at the honeysuckle flowers in the garden and between the painting and the honeysuckle an idea struck me. Gathering my scraps of wool roving i began to spin yarn on my trusted spinning wheel and as the yarn was drying in skeins by the honeysuckle flowers, the painting didn't seem so bad after all, perhaps my friend was right!

It is very difficult knowing the amount of Art yarn a doll will need. For the Honey Suckle Doll I can only give a rough estimate that you will need about at least 50 g of yarn , pending on if the yarn is thick or thin, but if you want really thick hair, the skies the limit, but try not to make it to heavy as the head will end up leaning at an angle.
