Please note that you are responsible for following instructions when making a doll to make sure that there are no gaps within the seam or loose threads and ensure the removal of any sewing equipment like pins or needles that presents a dangerous choking Hazard to a child. Please also remember that if you have a small child , please make age appropriate toys and keep away any toys that may have loose yarn for hair, this presents a choking Hazard.

Please remember that all Sewing and Felting equipment is a Tool and not a toy and not suitable for children aged 3 and under, and those who may be slightly older who wish to join in with sewing a Dolls kit must be supervised at all times.

Felting needles are unsuitable for children to use as they are very sharp and can tear the skin.

Caring for your Doll

As these dolls are made with real wool, we treat them differently to synthetic materials which often do not bio degrade.

The doll should be stored in a well ventilated area, or a card board box is ok too. Lavender is a wonderful natural moth repellent, and can be stored with the toy when its boxed away.. giving the toy a wonderful Lavender Scent.

Storing Your Doll/Kit - Cotton fabric will fade if left in the sun. Moths can be prevented by not letting the doll stay damp in a closed area.

Cleaning Your Doll Made from Wool - If your Doll made of wool has a little patch of dirt, its fine to spot clean with a damp cloth. If it is time to give your Doll a good clean because it is filled with wool it is important to wash gently in room temperature water with a little wool unscented detergent/conditioner and a Table spoon per gallon of apple cider vinegar. Place on a towel and pat dry, shaping the doll in its desired shape where ever necessary, then put doll flat on its back, on towel on the air rack and leave to dry in a well ventilated room/airing cupboard or in the garden under shade.

Please do not machine wash/spin dry/tumble dry or use hot water, especially do not use hot and then cold water as this will felt the wool. Do not wring dry as this will felt the wool. Our kits are available at our Cotton Cute Shop. We hope you will enjoy all Cotton Cute's Tutorials, Patterns and Kits as much as we have.
